Individuals NorwayAftenposten -- The family is in shock and deep grief. It is a tough experience for them. Now they ask for peace, says minister substitute Ann Kristin Avdem Omberg in NordInnherrad prosti to Aftenposten.no.

Large parts of the officers family lives here with us in the North-Innherad prosti, said Geir prost Henrik Gravås.

The parents live in Henning in Steinkjer municipality. Trond Petter Kolset leave a partner who will serve in Afghanistan. She will serve in the Air Force and working with the Norwegian helicopters that are in Meymaneh in northern Afghanistan.

Kolset were on their way to camp in Meymaneh when the attack happened. Officer would only serve in Afghanistan for a month.

Individuals Norway Family, friends, local residents and members of the armed forces came together to say farewell to Private Kristoffer Sørli Jørgensen. The member of the Norwegian Home Guard died from wounds sustained from the blast of an improvised explosive device near Maymana, Afghanistan.

The Stange church was full during the funeral. Local holidays had seen 600 to 700 people attend and a chapel next to the church had to be used where the procession was televised from the curch.

Two soldiers held the coffin onto a stretcher, which was covered by the Norwegian flag. in front of the stretcher lay a large wreath of white roses on a green background. this had been presented by the King.

Individuals NorwayAftenposten -- The body of the first Norwegian special forces soldier killed in Afghanistan returned to Norwegian soil Wednesday night.

His coffin wrapped in the Norwegian flag, the body of the fallen soldier was identified as Tor Arne Lau-Henriksen, who grew up in Rørvik, northern Norway. A memorial ceremony attended by friends and family of the first Norwegian special forces soldier killed in Afghanistan was held at the Oslo airport Gardermoen upon his return.

Lau-Henriksen, age 33, Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. within the Norwegians' operations area in the Lowgar province, south of Kabul, on Monday, leaving behind a wife and a child in Norway.

Individuals NorwayAfter Post --The Taliban took responsibility for the missile attack on Sunday that claimed the life of a Norwegian soldier from the Telemark battalion serving with the ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) in Afghanistan. The Taliban also promised future attacks through self-proclaimed spokesman Abdul Hakim Latifi.

Tommy Rodningsby, 29, was paid last respects in a ceremony at the Norwegian camp on Monday. His death hit fellow soldiers hard but they were continuing to focus on fulfilling their mission in Afghanistan, press officer Ola Boe Hansen told the Defense web site.

Rodningsby was traveling with 12-20 other soldiers in a column of four vehicles when they came under close range missile fire on Sunday evening.
