The mother seemed very affected by what happened. The comment was reported to journalists from army officer: "There is anger in parents, but only so much pain."

Giandomenico Pistonami, corporal of the Thunderbolt, one of six killed yesterday in Afghanistan, came to this country that looks like a postcard.

Umbria is a thousand feet, a thousand inhabitants who all know each other from birth, a breathtaking landscape on Civita di Bagnoregio, on the rock and ravines, hills, fragrant mushroom and loose soil. 
Giandomenico he left at eighteen for military service.

A life that he liked: he had signed as a volunteer, then was passed to the regiment of paratroopers committed to Siena.

Individuals Italyilgiornaledelfriuli -- LECCE Davide Ricciuto was enlisted as a volunteer in just 18 years to find a stable job after military service she had left Tiggiano, one of the smallest countries in the Leccese, who yesterday at the news of his death has been poured out on the street .

Everyone who knew him, childhood friends, acquaintances and even those who had only heard of him, silently reached via Genoa, where he lives and where the family of Corporal David was returning whenever he could.

The news that was among the victims of the attack was brought to parents by the commander of the Cavalry School in Lecce. Soon after were the mayor and the pastor of the first to join in the sorrow of the family. Ricchiuto, 26, was the second of three children. The elder brother, Ippazio, is the chef in Verona and is soon back in Salento.

Individuals ItalyCaserta 24 -- SANTA MARIA CAPUA Vetere (Ce) sad fate that of Sergeant Major Roberto Valente, serving in the 187th Parachute Infantry Regiment "Folgore".

It was his last mission abroad and obtained the coveted transfer a few days after a life spent among the airborne troops of the Thunderbolt.

Valente, in fact, at his return, which would take place next month in October, was joined at the military prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, in which Col. Raffaele D'Ambrosio, the summit of the Organization penitentiary.

Individuals ItalyComune -- Lieutenant Antonio Fortunato, 35, a native of Lagonegro (Potenza), who commanded the patrol that had been attacked in Kabul this morning, leaves his wife Gianna, teacher precarious, and a young son.

The family had settled some years near Siena, Abbesses.

His family and 'resident Tramutola in Potenza. He would have celebrated ten years of marriage on 16 December Lt. Anthony Fortunato, who died in the attack today in Kabul.

Individuals ItalyUnion Esarda -- Matteo Mureddu, was 26 years, and is the son of a shepherd who owns a small flock. He leaves a sister and another brother, himself a paratrooper of the Folgore division stationed in Pisa.

The military commander of Sardinia in January Sandro Santroni has informed Solarussa, Oristano, the parents of Matteo Mureddu paratrooper, died in the suicide bombing in Kabul.

The father and the mother of the young paratrooper Sardinian were apprehensive since radio and television gave the first news.

Individuals ItalyAKI -- Herat, 14 July (AKI) - The Italian government has expressed its sympathy for the 25-year-old soldier who was killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan on Tuesday. Alessandro Di Lisio, a corporal major from the southern city of Campobasso, was killed and three others were injured in a roadside bomb attack near the western city of Farah in Afghanistan.

The soldier was a paratrooper from Italy's 187th Folgore or Thunderbolt regiment.

Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini described the soldier's death as "a tragic loss",

Individuals ItalyNSD -- An Italian military died this morning nell'Ospedale from Italian Base Camp to Herat. This is the First Class Marshal of the Air Force Arnaldo Forcucci.

The death occurred due to cardio-respiratory arrest that struck on awakening. Are useless attempts to rescue. Sympathy was expressed by Defense Minister La Russa and the commander of the Italian contingent in Herat.

Marshal Arnaldo Forcucci, 41 years, Popoli (Pe), leaves his wife and a daughter.

The NCO, assigned to the work of infrastructure, operating in the Italian Camp Arena in Herat where coordinated the various infrastructure works that allow the military to live in modern environments with a certain comfort.

Individuals Italy Heart, Afghanistan. – Corporal Alessandro Caroppo, 23, was due to mount guard at four in the morning. Realising that he had not responded to the call his comrades approached his sleeping space. They believed he was in a deep sleep until realizing that he was having difficulty breathing.

Alessandro was rushed to medical facilities, however, they were unable to revive him.

A native of San Pietro Vernotico, Alessandro had been part of convoy operations that had been attacked repeatedly over recent days.

Individuals ItalyCorriere Della Sera -- Warrant Officer Giovanni Pezzulo, serving with the Cimic Group South and who was born at Carinola in the province of Caserta, was killed in a firefight for which Taliban claimed responsibility at Rudbar, about sixty kilometres from Kabul.

Another Italian soldier, Warrant Officer Enrico Mercuri, 31, was slightly wounded in the right leg. Both servicemen were distributing food and medicine to civilians when they came under attack.

Politicians expressed sympathy, although the incident provoked further controversy over Italy’s military presence in Afghanistan just a few days before the vote, with an outgoing government, to refinance the missions.
