Individuals France Nicolas Sarkozy was Friday morning in Winnow in the Morbihan, for the homage ceremony to the two French killed soldiers recently in Afghanistan.

Sergeant Thomas Rousselle, and Corporal Johann Naguin, both of them members of the 3rd Regiment of Infantry of Navy (Marines) were killed by the explosion of a hand-crafted bomb at the time of a patrol to the northeast of Kabul, September 4.

The honor Legion was put back for them to title posthumous during this homage. The two soldiers were equally promoted to a superior rank.

Recalling that France was located in Afghanistan to help the local population to find the road to peace, security and development", Nicolas Sarkozy noted that it was a matter of a fight against barbarity, against obscurantism".

Individuals FranceMaville.com -- He died Saturday under fire from the Taliban. Corporal Anthony Bodin, 22, was killed Saturday north-east of Kabul in an ambush of Afghan rebels. A Dinan (Côtes-d'Armor), his family and friends mourn Anthony Bodin, a young man of 1, 80 which croquant life.

"He was too young to die." In her apartment on the second floor of a building housing Dinan, Christine's mother Anthony Bodin, the young soldier of 22 years killed in Afghanistan Saturday to tears. "Yesterday when I saw the colonel, a policeman and the mayor on the doorstep, I immediately understood. "

Individuals FranceMoD -- Monday 16 March 2009 on the Place d'Armes Camp Warehouse in Kabul, took place the ceremony of lifting the body of Corporal Nicolas Belda, who died in combat in Valley Alasa on 14 March 2009.

Corporal Belda, the 27th Brigade Alpine Annecy, had joined the Afghan theater in late November 2008, started with his unit in the Kapisa GTIA.

Individuals FranceBlogspot -- A French soldier has been killed in Afghanistan. Captain Patrice Sonzogni, 46 from Tarbes, Midi-Pyrenees, died of injuries sustained during an improvised explosive device attack in Deh-e-Manakah, Logar province

He was sent to Saudi Arabia under Operation Daguet on 11 February 1991. Crew in the group of commandos research and action in depth, he crossed the border and entered Iraqi territory on 24 February. Injured, he was repatriated on 28 February 1991.

He succeeded brilliantly technical certificate 2nd degree on 20 December 1991

Individuals France The body of Warrant Officer Nicolas Rey, killed last Saturday by the explosion of an improvised explosive device, has returned home.

The funeral procession passed through the city of Ardennais escorted by 30 bikers and the national Gendarmerie. Proceedings then took place inside the chapel near Dumerboin, where a tent was placed outside to contain the condolence book and a place where people could leave flowers.

Many expressions of sympathy have already arrived from former soldiers and even young people who have completed their national service.

Individuals France On the night of July 24-25 2007 Pascal Correia was supporting the Afghan National Army in Wardak province. He was fatally wounded when struck by shrapnel from rockets fired by insurgents.

Born on May 9, 1967 in Haute-Saone, Pascal entered the French Military, joining the 1st Parachute Regiment in December 1985 when he was 18 years old.

He made Master Corporal in 1986 and Sergeant the following year.

Individuals France Julien Le Pahun, 19, was one of ten French soldiers killed during a Taliban ambush 50 kilometers east of the Afghan capital, Kabul. A further 21 were wounded in the fight, which lasted through the night and into the following day.

He joined his current unit in June 2007 and was part of the latest rotation of French troops to arrive in Afghanistan in July 2008. he is survived by three brothers and sisters.

Eleven of the 21 French soldiers also wounded in the clashes arrived back in France earlier Wednesday and were taken to hospitals in the Paris region, where Fillon paid them a visit.

Individuals France Nicolas Gregoire was one of ten French soldiers killed in a Taliban ambush 50 kilometers east of Kabul, with a further 21 suffering wounds. Nicolas was born in Hauts de Seine on November 3, 1982. He grew up in Saint-Gaudens attending primary and high school.

From an early age Nicolas had decided to wear the uniform of a soldier. His grandfather loved the Army, so joined at the age of 17 joining the 8e Régiment Parachutiste d Infanterie de Marine, based in Castres, in 2001.

Afghanistan was his sixth deployment, having served in Kosovo, Gabon, New Caledonia and the Ivory Coast. Nicolas knew of the dangers but believed it was his job to defend his country. He is survived by his parents and two sisters.

Individuals France Relatives of Damien Gaillet gathered in the family apartment in Caen to remember the young soldier. The Private 1st Class was killed Monday evening during a Taliban ambush 50 kilometers east of the Afghan capital.

The young soldier joined the 8th Parachute Regiment Marine Infantry, based in Castres, on June 5, 2007. The unit was his first choice. “He had it in blood. He was talking about since he was tiny. Travel, righteousness, respect for others is something of everything that attracted," says his father, Daniel.

A younger brother has just completed his first week in the French Military. This was Damien’s first mission overseas. He flew into Kabul on July 21 with the latest rotation of French soldiers.

Individuals France Alexis Taani, 20, was killed during a Taliban ambush in the Uzbin Valley on Monday. Nine other French soldiers lost their lives with a further 21 wounded when around 100 Taliban fighters ambushed a French patrol 50 kilometers from the Afghan capital, Kabul.

The quick reaction force came to the rescue with the support of close air. The fight lasted through the night and into the following day. Eight of the fallen soldiers were from the 8e Régiment Parachutiste d Infanterie de Marine.

Alexis, from Hautes-Alpes, enlisted into the French Military and was posted to his current unit last December, where he had been employed as a radio operator.
