Individuals NetherlandsDefence -- The 44-year-old Sergeant Major Mark Leijsen is Monday, September 7 in Uruzgan killed by an attack with an improvised explosive.

The attack took place in the Deh Rashangebied, about 9 kilometer northwest of the Dutch base Camp Holland.

Sergeant Major Leijsen from 101 engineer battalion is stationed at the barracks in Wezep Princess Margriet.

Mark Leijsen was part of an Operational Mentor and Liaison Team which assists the Afghan army in operations and training.
