Individuals PolandWSVN -- WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- The Polish army says a soldier injured in Afghanistan in May has died of his wounds at a hospital in Poland.

Pfc. Artur Pyc was injured May 22 in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province when a roadside bomb exploded under the mine-resistant armored vehicle he was driving.

Poland's army command said in a statement Wednesday that Pyc died at a military hospital in Lublin on Tuesday. It gave no further details.

Pyc's death brings to 12 the number of Polish soldiers who have died in the country's Afghan mission, which started in 2002.
